About Our School
Our School
We continue to keep our whole environment as clean and as safe as we can. We have cameras in various places around the school environment inside and outside for added security.
The joy of the children’s laughter is the best part of our day! There are happy interactions and the love of learning is evident!
It is truly a joy to do what we do; children and teachers alike!
We are a PEANUT AND TREE NUT FREE ENVIRONMENT. We can give you resources on what snacks are safe.
Classroom
It is our goal to foster the development of young children by offering a variety of activities for them to enjoy playfully. We strongly believe that young children learn best through play and discovery, and that each child approaches learning in unique ways. Our program encourages positive interactions, habits, and respect for self and others. Children are given daily opportunities to build social and emotions skills, to develop cognitively and physically, and to express themselves with creativity, moral obligation and respect. We are happy to share the love of God each and every day!
Enrollment
We must have at least 5 enrolled to have a class.
Our school year typically runs from the first week of September through the first week of June. Registration for the coming school year begins January 1 for returning students and siblings, and February 1 for new students. We encourage potential new students to visit before registering, and to register early as our enrollment is limited and fills quickly.
Curriculum
Buttonwoods School is committed to the education of the “whole child”. Our curriculum has been developed to give children opportunities to build skills in all learning dimensions including language, literacy, math, science, creative arts and expression, physical competency, social interaction, emotional understanding and control, and moral and spiritual development. Children will participate in a variety of activities each day which support learning at their individual levels of development. Remembering the important role of play and discovery in learning, our students learn and build personal skills in a comfortable and enjoyable way. Not only do we have engaging curriculum, we have in-house field trips from our community helpers, we visit a farm and we have family members come in to the class to read and help with special events. BSYC has, also been instrumental in Homeschooling families as a JUMPSTART to their education. (Read some reviews). Detailed curriculum information is available upon request.”
